16 Things to do in Augusta this Weekend June 8-11


Beach Night at the BEC - Saturday - Put on your dance shoes and best beach outfit and dance the night away. Doors open at 7:30, dancing starts at 8:30 PM. Cost is $10 or $15 per couple.

Bingo Book Roundup - Saturday - 2nd & Charles has an afternoon of family fun with Bingo for books. Play to win books. 2 - 4 PM. Free Event.

Book Bash - Friday - Bring your kids to the Kroc Center from 11 AM - 2 PM for a free book giveaway to help promote summer reading. Food, cartoon characters and other fun activities as well. Free Event.

Composting 101 - Saturday - Learn how and why to compost with this free beginners class. 9:30 - 10:30 AM at Keep Augusta Beautiful on Telfair St. Free Event.

Family Game Night - Friday - Spend time with your family and play games and puzzles for all ages. 5 - 7 PM at Chick-fil-A Mullins Crossing. Free Event.

Friday Sing-along - Friday - Sing along too the move Annie on the big screen at Nancy Carson Library. Movie starts at 3 PM. Free Event, bring your own refreshments.

Gone Fishing - Saturday - Head to Cabelas to learn how to set up your kayak for fishing, see the catch & release pond and learn what you need to fish local waters. 1 - 4 PM. Free Event.

Grovetown Farmer's Market - Saturday - Saturdays through September you can shop local produce, handmade items and local artists at Goodale Park in Grovetown. Starts at 9 AM.

Kids & Tunes - Friday - Every Friday this summer kids can learn about different works of literature through music and movement, games, songwriting and more. 10:30 - 11:15 AM. Cost is $10 single class/$90 for all classes.

Live Music at Rooted - Friday - Grab a coffee or dinner and enjoy live music at Rooted Coffeehouse from 6 - 9 PM.

Pig Out in the Park - Saturday - Amateur and kids BBQ competitions along with live music! 11 AM - 6 PM at The Augusta Common. Tickets are $5 adults, free for kids 12 and under.

Plant and Pottery Blow Out - Friday, Saturday, Sunday - Good Earth Produce and Garden Center is having a huge sale on plants and pottery. 9 AM - 6 PM.

Play and Grow - Friday - Kids 0 - 5 can stop in for playtime with blocks, toys, puppets and more. 10:30 AM at Nancy Carson Library. Free Event.

Movie Showing - Saturday - Aiken County Public Library will be showing Black Panther at 3 PM. Free Event.

Snake Identification - Saturday - Learn how to properly identify snakes in our area and get your questions answered about snakes. Ages 8 and up. 9 AM - 11 AM at Reed Creek Nature Park. Free Event, registration required.

Watercolor Retreat - Saturday - Create 5+ watercolor paintings in the beautiful setting of the Augusta canal. 9 AM - 2 PM. Cost is $75 and includes breakfast, lunch, snacks and other goodies.
